My hours today are 10:00-1:00. When sucky things happen if life we sometimes have to attend funerals. In honor of a wonderful life, that is what I will be doing this afternoon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  Good evening! It is a cold one once again.  I love winter but these deep freeze temperatures are getting to me.  I guess complaining will not make it any warmer so if I keep myself busy, maybe I won’t notice it.   There is a bit of truth to that…we are watching the houses of friends and family that are on vacation.  3 of them!  So with all this snow…we have been shoveling.  Hardly noticed it was a whopping -24! I wanted to let you know what is arriving mid week! Little Black Dress was such a hit when Basic Grey came out with it last winter that they decided to bring it back as little Black Dress 2!   ANYTHING you will make out of these prints will be a guaranteed hit!  I am bringing in the whole entire collection including the grunges that coordinate. I also have a few precuts left.       Honky Tonk by Eric & Julie Comstock are great prints as well.  11 bolts of this fun country collection as well as layer cakes, charm packs and some great patterns to go along with it. Wishes by Sweetwater is another collection in this shipment.  Sorry I have no picture right now.  But you will not want to miss this out on this one!  18 bolts together with some patterns and precuts. Lastly….. 9 bolts of Michael Miller flannels!   I will post pictures when I unpack them! ...here is some fun stuff!  We got a puppy!  lol  His name is Mister and he is so well behaved!  Our kids are really missing the animals from the farm so this was a little bit mean, but fun.  So come stop in this week!  Shari    

Binding is something I love to do.  It is that final thing to complete a  quilt...just before the washing...just to see it pucker.  So when my quilter brought me 3 quilts she had finished, I knew just what I was going to spend my next day doing.  Binding!  I used to hand stitch it all until recently I learnt (or should I say became brave enough) to machine stitch it.  It takes some practice but stitching in the ditch looks quite elegant.  This collection by Basic Grey called Little Black Dress 2 is supposed to be shipping out today or tomorrow.  That means by next week I should have it out and ready to talk you into taking it home.  Weird, I know, but people tell me that fabric talks to them. (it talks to me too)

2013 is nearly gone.  Time to be thankful for all the days that came and went.  We have had a crazy busy year but one I wont forget too quickly.  Many dreams came true (my store), many financial decisions had to be made (moving to Winkler), and that is only 2 of the big ones.  I think I have the best of all the worlds.  I have great kids and a wonderful husband, together with great friends and a church we call home. BUT within this year we have also witnessed , again, all the hurt this world can offer.  Many families broken where heaven has gained.  Reality is...it can happen to anyone.  I often worry about things I shouldn't.  I cannot control it anyways.  Once again my new years resolution will be to look for God in new ways.  Sometimes I get so used to knowing and seeing where He shines, that I  take them for granted.  This Christmas I said 'wouldn't it be great to see what the new year will bring?' and then I thought about that.  I don't think I could handle what I don't know.  I will leave that in the hands of who IS in control.    So I want to wish each one of you a wonderful new year and I am grateful for the relationships I have made with you.  I look forward to seeing the projects we will all create in the coming year!  I really need to take pictures of all the projects people bring in for 'show and tell'.  That would make a fabulous book!  (maybe a project for the store!)  HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!  BLESS AND BE BLESSED (cause it feels good)

These 3 bolts will add to the black, white and gray collection.  The pop of color would be great in a mostly black and white quilt.  Quite elegant looking.

great Valentine's prints arrived!  The great thing about this collection is they go far beyond Valentine's only.  Panel has cutouts that would work great for pillows and labels for quilts. Charm packs available too!
